Super Bowl Chili

Ingredients:

·      2 tbsp olive oil

·      1 onion, diced

·      2 cloves garlic, minced

·      1 lb lean ground turkey breast

·      1 can crushed tomatoes

·      1 can tomato paste

·      1 can kidney beans, drained & rinsed

·      1 can black beans, drained & rinsed

·      2-3 cups chicken broth, depending on your desired consistency

·      2 tbsp chili powder

·      1 tsp cumin

·      1 tbsp garlic granules

·      1 tbsp onion granules

·      1 ½ tsp salt

·      1 tsp black pepper

 Topping Suggestions:

·      1 red pepper, chopped

·      ¼ cup Worcestershire sauce

·      hot sauce

·      sour cream

·      cheese (shredded sharp cheddar & mozzarella taste great with this chili)

·      crushed tortilla chips

Directions:

  1. In a large pot on medium heat, sauté the onions and garlic in olive oil until translucent, about 3 minutes.

  2. Stir in ground turkey, breaking it up into pieces & cooking until opaque white.

  3. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, kidney beans, black beans, chili powder, cumin, garlic granules, onion granules, salt, and pepper, and let everything simmer for at least 10 minutes (pro tip: the longer you let it simmer, the better it will taste, but 10 minutes is really all you need).

  4. Finish with your desired toppings and enjoy!
